What is a Motor School?
It takes any rider from minimal capabilities to maximum capabilities in a very short window of time. It is either through an Individual-motorcycle skills (SKLS) training format or a group-ride training format (GRP). It is conducted and instructed by visiting provincial, state, federal and police motor officers (PMO) as well as their PMO instructors.
Why?
To live, no matter what circumstances may befall you as a Rider. To leave you safe. To eliminate doubt. To ride advantageously regardless of the traffic scheme currently around you.
How?
One of the nicer advantages stemming from your participating-with, or the helping-out with, a charity cause; is that it opens up a few unique opportunities delivering some unique knowledge, rarefied access and niche training. The instructors volunteer this each year in order to help Riders stay alive on our roads. Instructors include police motor officers (PMO), emergency operators (EO) as well as their various PMO instructors. All Staff and Instructors volunteer their time to meet with you and put together a series of learning options around your current skill sets. Also, if you are looking for a worthy cause deserving of a motorcyclist's time and effort - many of us lend our skills and support to the Military Police Fund for Blind Children www.mpfbc.ca, Royal Canadian Legion Veteran fundraisers, Sunshine Coast Community Schools fundraiser, Eagle Riders fundraisers, Run to the Wall fundraiser and the American Legion Rider Veteran's event schedule and many others that take place throughout the annual riding season.
When?
If you are researching for an entire group of Riders, quite often we can come to your general region to facilitate. Otherwise, for the good folks researching into training for themselves, here is this season's volunteer training opportunities.
Delivery Options and Formats
Fact: Crossing any urban or rural environment while atop a motorcycle especially while advancing against rain, wind and shine during any month of the year; requires both a commitment to your own safety and to the possession of tools in your toolbox. If one is going to increase their chances of arriving in one piece and in the many environments that we all ride through; access to skills development is important. Here are a few options for those Riders to pursue, specifically those who have been known to help others or help a cause with their motorcycle:
Cost:
We want to see Riders, group rides and fundraisers succeed and we personally all have other jobs or careers, usually on motorcycles professionally. If the MSD team ends up engaged with you on the ground and at length; we would love to see a donation go to the foundation - otherwise, please know that there is no fee for any of the help provided.
We deeply respect your decision to step outside of the normal, the easy and the comfortable, in order to try to lead others towards a good cause thereby doing some good with your motorcycles in the process.
